My name is Steven Padfield, and I'm a software engineer at a small company in Sacramento, CA where I work primarily with ASP.NET.
I hold a profound fascination with Genetic Programming, and it is my intention to develop a generic, pluggable framework for running studies on various GP problem domains. Of course, the holy grail is to develop a winning strategy for the game of craps, at which point I will siphon a small fortune from Las Vegas and then live off the royalties from licensing this technology to the rest of the world. At that point, I may have the option to invest in time travel technologies or cybernetics, but that's still up in the air for now. I'm definitely going to have bionic eyes at some point in my life, that's for sure.
In my spare time, I race my Subaru WRX in SCCA RallyCross, which is basically “entry-level” rally racing with no rocks, trees, cliffs, water, jumps, burms, or any other obstacle. But nevertheless it's fun, and it sounds cool to say that I race my car.
